Webex App | Reclaim the host role in a meeting using the host key
Feedback?
If you're hosting a meeting but you're running late or can’t join the meeting, have someone else take over the host role. You can do this by giving the host key to someone that you've invited to the meeting. The host key is a 6-digit code that's generated when you schedule a meeting.
The host key gives you more privileges than other participants. For example, you can record the meeting, mute or unmute participants, and end the meeting.
Note the following about using the host key:
- You can use the host key to take over the host role only if the host selects the Join before host option when they schedule the meeting.
- If the original host joins the meeting later, they automatically reclaim the host role in the meeting.
- You can't reclaim the host role if the original host scheduled the meeting in their Personal Room.
This feature is available on our Webex Suite meeting platform. Find out if your meetings use the Webex Suite meeting platform.
